DAP assisted master trainers in conducting a training on the Universal Recovery Curriculum (URC): Recovery Allies, organised by the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) of Thailand from 3 – 7 February 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. The training aimed to enhance the skills of 32 professionals in the field of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) recovery.
Over the five-day period, participants demonstrated high levels of engagement through interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical exercises. A significant improvement in knowledge was observed, with average post-test scores rising to 16 from a pre-test average of 10.3. This notable increase underscores the training’s effectiveness in enhancing participants’ understanding and skills in recovery support.
This training addressed a critical need within Thailand’s SUD recovery framework. By empowering professionals with advanced recovery support techniques, the initiative aligns with national efforts to strengthen the capacity of the workforce dedicated to combating substance use disorders. The collaboration between The Colombo Plan and ONCB highlights a shared commitment to improving public health outcomes in the Asia-Pacific region.
