The Universal Curriculum Courses on Treatment and Prevention at the 3rd ISSUP National Conference -  Manila, Philippines

158 training participants across six Colombo Plan training tracks have completed Universal Curriculum courses on treatment and prevention at the recently concluded ISSUP Philippines 3rd National Conference in Manila last 14 – 18 October to 2024.

The training tracks included:

  • Track 1: UTC Course 1 on Introduction to the Science of Addiction
  • Track 2: UTC Course 3 Common Co-occurring Mental and Medical Disorders
  • Track 3: UTC Course 8 Ethics for Addiction Professionals
  • Track 4: UTC Course 13 Contingency Management
  • Track 5: UTC Course 21 Trauma-Informed Care for Adults
  • Track 6: UPC M&S Course 8 Media-based Prevention Interventions

 

The content and methodology of the UTC training series is designed to ensure that addiction practitioners develop a balanced perspective of the principles relating to both the science and art of addiction treatment. Each course is intended to enhance the knowledge, skills and competencies of addiction professionals, as well as promote evidence-based practice for the enhancement of service delivery and treatment outcomes.
UPC-M&S provides a training programme for prevention managers and supervisors who manage and supervise the implementation of prevention interventions and/or policies.
