A delegation from The Colombo Plan, led by the Secretary-General, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of the Drug Advisory Programme, along with their team, is attending the 38th International Drug Enforcement Conference (IDEC XXXVIII), themed “Beyond Borders: Expanding Global Partnerships.” The event, taking place from September 24 to 26 in Athens, Greece, brings together key stakeholders in international drug enforcement.
On the first day, the conference highlighted critical topics such as International Cooperation, strengthening Global Partnerships, and featured Plenary Sessions focused on the Maritime Container Industry, the capabilities and tools of the International Narcotics Control Board, as well as discussions on Extraterritorial Jurisdiction. These sessions aim to foster collaboration and enhance the global framework for combatting drug-related challenges.
During the three-day event, The Colombo Plan will be featured at the IDEC Vendor Exhibition, showcasing its expertise in Demand and Supply Reduction activities. Additionally, the team will present valuable insights on the “Geospatial Analysis of Seized Drug Samples Contributing to Public Health Crises Worldwide” at the Plenary Session 6. The exhibition provides a platform to highlight the organisation’s services and contributions to addressing global drug issues, reinforcing its commitment to reducing the supply and demand for illicit substances on a global scale.
