H.E. the Secretary-General of The Colombo Plan Dr Benjamin Reyes and Ms Oranooch Sungkhawanna, Director of The Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme – DAP, accompanied by Ms Merlyn Franciso, Chief Financial Officer of The Colombo Plan and Ms DIchen Choden, Programme Officer – DAP, paid a courtesy call to Aum Pema Choden, the Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Royal Government of Bhutan.
The Colombo Plan delegation, who are in Bhutan for the National Secretariats Meeting (NSM), met with Dasho Dechen Wangmo, former Health Minister and the Head of The PEMA. The PEMA Secretariat is the co-host of the NSM 2024.

Bhutan’s hosting of the Drug Focal Agency Meeting marks a significant step in strengthening collaboration on drug-related concerns across member countries. The Colombo Plan looks forward to expanding networks with both member and non-member countries as part of the Global Coalition’s efforts to combat the synthetic drug crisis.
