CLOSING CEREMONY OF UPC CORE COURSE 10 FOR FRENCH SPEAKING COUNTRIES
Closing ceremony of the Universal Prevention Curriculum for Substance Use (UPC) Online Training of Trainers on UPC CORE COURSE 10: INTRODUCTION TO THE UNIVERSAL PREVENTION CURRICULUM SERIES FOR PRACTITIONERS was held on 25 May 2021.
It was attended by William Mcglynn, Senior Advisor INL, U.S. Department of State, Dr Sintiki T. Ugbe, Director, Social Affairs and Gender representing Dr. Siga Fatima Jagne, Commissioner of Social Affairs and Gender, of the ECOWAS Commission, Daniel A. Amankwaah, PPO & Project Coordinator, ECOWAS Commission and Dr. Olubusayo Akinola, – PO. Drug Demand Reduction, ECOWAS Commission.
23 trainers from eight French-speaking countries completed the online training of 10 weeks held from 18 March to 25 May 2021 corresponding to 40 Continuing Education hours, funded by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), U.S. Department of State.

Physiology and Pharmacology for Prevention Professionals,
Critical Themes of the Universal Prevention Curriculum Series for Practitioners,
Prevention Science: Definitions and Principles,
Critical Theories in Prevention,
Evidence-based Prevention Interventions and Policies: The UNODC International Standards on Drug Use Prevention,
The Implementation Cycle for Prevention Interventions,
The Implementation Cycle: Skills and Competencies for Prevention Professionals,
Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals, and
Application of the Core to Practice and Professional Development.
