The Colombo Plan participated in the 2nd International Symposium on Drug-Related Studies, hosted by the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo on 3 December 2024.

The event brought together local and international scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and organisations to explore innovative, evidence-based solutions to the growing challenges of drug prevention, treatment, and control, under the theme “Balanced and Coordinated Strategy for Building a Drug-Free Community: with Active Citizen Engagement.”

The Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme, with decades of experience in drug demand reduction and prevention, is proud to partner with the NDDCB in fostering collaborative approaches to tackling global drug issues. The event highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in addressing the complexities of substance abuse, including emerging threats such as synthetic drugs.

H.E. Dr Benjamin Reyes, the Secretary-General of The Colombo Plan delivered an insightful message, emphasizing the vital role of knowledge sharing and the collective efforts of international and local stakeholders in creating sustainable, impactful solutions for a drug-free future.
