Virtual Training on Addiction Severity Index (ASI) for Maldives

A Virtual Training on Addiction Severity Index (ASI) was conducted from 02 to 05 November 2020 for 23 officials representing National Drug Agency (NDA) Maldives. The training was conducted via Zoom Platform and facilitated by DAP staff Dr. Khalid Humayuni, Mr. George Murimi, Mr. Erry Wijoyo and Mr. Muhammad Ayub.

The training was conducted in compliance to a request received from the NDA to training their staff who are involved in the fields of treatment and recovery. Accordingly, the four day tailor made training was pulled off successfully.

The participants were informed on the general use of ASI, clinical utility of ASI, Client Severity Ratings, Interviewer Severity Ratings, ASI Narrative Report Writing, and on the Administration Components in relation to ASI; General Information, Medical Status section, Employment Support Section, Alcohol/Drug Section, Family/Social Status Section, and Mental Health Status Section.

The training comprised of reflexive exercises, Group Assignments through video recorded role plays and Q&A session. The training received much positive feedback from the participants who anticipated for a face to face training in the future.
